Go into the shop you've never been able to explain

There's one near everybody: a window that has never once explained itself — is it hardware, is it haberdashery, is it somehow both. Today the mystery ends. Go in, ask whoever runs it what the place actually sells and who buys it, then buy something small so you leave as a customer, not a tourist. The answer is almost never what the window suggested.
