Find the oldest thing in the junk shop and ask how it got there

Every junk shop has one object that's outlived everyone in the building. Go find it — check the undersides, the maker's marks, the dates nobody has read in years. Then ask the dealer where it came from and who owned it: the thing can't talk, but the dealer holds its whole file.
